In need of a quick root touch-up or a fresh balayage?! Prior to coming in for your appointment you should ALWAYS wash your hair and make sure it’s fresh and clean! In addition to this, it’s also SO SO important to come with your hair as straight as possible. Read below to find out why...

If you come in with built up product or dry-shampooed roots, the colour will have a hard time depositing over the dry shampoo. It will act as an impermeable barrier and block the colour from fully reaching your roots.  From this you’ll get an unsuccessful root touch-up that will lead to lighter roots and/or blotchy root coverage. This is because the colour will be trying to lift the oils/products instead of your actual hair and in result a maximum lift won’t be achieved. Yes, we all LOVE dry shampoo but just make sure it’s all washed out prior to your appointment.

Furthermore, coming in with your hair straight is just as important… especially if you are coming in for a balayage! Smoothing kinks and curls with a straightener or a round brush while blow drying will help your stylist get the BEST blend of colour. So, come in with your hair FRESH and SMOOTH to avoid discoloured and blotchy roots! Trust me your hair stylist will truly appreciate this!

Quick tip! Try not to wash your hair for 48 hours after your appointment. The longer you wait, the more time the colour pigment will have to soak into the hair cuticle, which will result in longer-lasting colour overall.
